Standard Detached or ‘Cookie Cutter’ Garage

Our bread an butter. We love these projects because we’re so good at them, and can get them done faster than anyone else in town! A standard detached garage is your basic gable or cottage garage that you see every day in laned communities. These are typically the most cost efficient garage projects. Standard garage sizes include:

  • Single car garage: 12 – 18 feet wide and 8 – 10 wall height*
  • Two car garage: 20 – 28 feet wide and 8 – 10 wall height*
  • Three car garage: 30 ft + wide and 8 – 10 wall height*
* The height of your garage may be restricted by you municipal by-laws. We may be limited in height, or could possibly build a taller wall height pending the location for the project.

We had Gecko come in to modify and complete our current garage. Derrick gave us a full quote with all the pricing broken down to make it clear what we were paying for. He gave us a full timeline and pointed out areas where there could potentially be delays. Derrick was very involved and always knew what was going on, he’s an excellent project manager. He was often on site checking on crews and was always available if we had questions. I never once was at a point where I said to my self ‘hmm I better check and see what’s going on’ because we were always updated and always knew what was happening and when. We had an unexpected delay due to city electrical inspections taking forever, but Derrick called us right away to explain and give us our options. Prior to the project starting, we had a flood and we gave Derrick a heads up on it, and he even made the time to come down and make sure that what work we had planned wouldn’t make the situation worse. We were very stressed about it but he helped ease our minds. We were very pleased with Derrick and all the trades he brought in. Even our neighbours commented several times what great guys they were. No complaints at all. Thanks Derrick!

We built our garage three months short of five years ago. We haven’t had any issues, until today. The spring on a garage door broke trapping my car in the garage. I called Derrick, and with in two hours he had a very polite man here to assess my issue and free my vehicle. The service technician has plans to have the spring fixed within the next few days. I am in absolute shock that it was this easy to deal with this company. There was no arguing, there was no blaming, he just checked his system confirmed that it was still under warranty and had a solution.
